Shawn Reddy's The Great Galvani, Chicago's Orgie Theatre Award recipient for "Innovative, thrilling and inspiring playwriting," is back for its third remount and east coast premiere at the 2010 New York International Fringe Festival. Listed as one of the "Top Shows of the Year" by the Chicago Tribune, The Great Galvani is the story of a larger-than-life showman in the twilight of his career, a freakish tinkerer of dead frogs who dissects everything from the famed Fiji Mermaid and Tom Thumb to catastrophic loss and the need for bewildering beauty. Inspired by P.T. Barnum's grand traveling museum and Michel Foucault's Discipline and Punish.
